William had been told several times that sunlight was very dangerous and could also be fatal to him. He had experienced a few times what it felt when stray sun rays had touched him. The pain really was quite bad and lasted long. It also left ugly marks on his skin.
Despite the risks William did have a habit of sneaking outside occasionally to catch the last signs of sunset if he happened to be awake at that time. In his opinion the sunset was really beautiful and he could remember enjoying it a lot when he still was alive. He knew that he needed to be extra careful and usually he settled to just watch the sun while peaking just a little from behind the curtains.
A few times he had been careless and gotten himself burned a little by the sun. Then he always tried to hide the marks but wasn't too successful with it. Somehow his Sire always found out and different punishments followed. They ranged from light whippings to Angelus nailing his window shut and locking him inside his room on several days in a row to make sure he didn't get out before he was let out.
The punishments didn't contain William much. It didn't take long after them before he was again trying to sneak out to see it. He did get more stealthy in it and seldom got caught. He also found good placed inside the house to watch the sunset without getting his skin burned. He wasn't ready to give up on sun completely yet. He knew the dangers but his need to even glimpse a small peak of the sun was stronger than his fear for punishment.
